Savannah spoke at the 2024 Head to the Hill Welcome Reception and Ependymoma Awareness Day event last month in Washington, D.C. She shared her story with strength and grace and spoke about the realities of being a young adult navigating a rare brain tumor diagnosis and survivorship.
Savannah explains, "I noticed that I have transformed a lot since I was diagnosed. I have grown a lot as a person. I've changed in many ways, I am more empathetic towards everyone. I'm not grateful that I got cancer, but I am grateful for the person I have become after cancer."
Savannah plans to continue her advocacy efforts and wants to use her experience with cancer to help others as best she can.
